The straightener I have now is a cheap Vidal Sasson with metal plates. It gets really hot and after you iron part of your hair the heat goes away and it doesn't straighten the rest of my hair good. I really like this one. It is made by Conair and has wide ceramic plates, even heating the whole time you iron, and it even has comb like teeth on one of the plates so your hair will be brushed at the same time. Is this a good straigthener?
I cannot afford to pay alot of money for a straightener so if you could reccomened the best one for a low price and good products to protect my hair and keep it smooth it would be much appreciated.

the solia at folica.com, i think its for like $88, and i've heard it works sooo well. i personally just ordered a sedu (for $125, a bit pricier) yesterday which is also i really great flat iron.
i've been recommended (by shary) redken smooth down heat glide, and she says only use a drop or two because it's super-concentrated.

oh my gosh, please throw that metal flat iron out!! metal is soo damaging. invest in your hair (its a girls best accessory!) and get something with ceramic plates, not just ceramic coated like that conair of yours. you can buy your clothes from target but please not your flat iron! do your hair a big favor and get the solia! its like the sedu for less.

would you say your hair is damaged? i'm guessing yes b/c of your flat irons. you need to be using shampoo + conditioner + styling products + treatments for damaged hair. also, what is your hair type? fine and thin? or maybe medium to thick? flat? or perhaps more voluminous? wavy? curly? (i'm guessing not straight b/c you're straightening it)

My hair is not badly damaged just the usual split ends. My hair is also very thick and wavy. I straighten my hair becuase the heat makes my waves poof out and I hate it. I have really oily hair so I cannot use conditioner very much.

I have to wash it everyday because I use styling gel and hairspray. If I don't my hair looks awful. I use head and shoulders shampoo.
