does combing mess up ur wave pattern if u do it in the same direction u do the brushing?

I dunno if combin will help or not...i mean i fiqure it wont help cuz when i get a cut my barber runs a comb thru my hair and it brings it up so it aint layin flat nemore...so it dont lay ur hair down nemore

combing for me just helps detangle my hair...i give it like 10 strokes after i wet it.... and when i put in detangling conditioner i comb it through.... to me i think it helps the nutrients and the conditioner reach the scalp to where it really is needed.... but thats my reasoning
