No offense or anything.....but you said the gel keeps it looking wet and shiney, and didn't he say he doesn't want it the wet, glossy, or glued-on- head look?.....I mean, just thought I'd say something.

your hair is probably too soft and straight.

My hair is so stubborn that it can't hold a style for 5 minutes even if I put gel on it. I don't want the feeling of hair touching my forehead. The only option I can think of (besides having a crew cut) is to put on an extreme-hold gel, which doesn't look good either. Is there a way to make it hold without having that wet, glossy, glued-on-head look?

I also dream of that day when I could care less about the wind ruining my hairstyle. I hope I'm still alive by that time.
