Can you imagine her with the traditional short hair for older women?  It would be a crime.  The long, soft curls on the side look beautiful on her.

It's nice to see her supporting a cause about which she's passionate, supporting those who don't otherwise have a human voice of support.

she not only supports animal protection issues, but she also supports French ultra-nationalist La Pen.

She's very active and opinionated for an older woman, and she does look good for her age.

Plus heavy smoking.  Lotf of sun and smoking are just about the worst things you can do for the skin.

What the heck do you know about the elderly, Anne?

I'm proud of Ms. Bardot for having the courage to keep her hair long... oh yeah, and making public appearances on behalf of something she feels strongly about. A woman once told me that women with long hair are really the true "independent" women of our day since they get so much pressure to cut it short. I'm not sure if that was really her reasoning, but it fits here, so I'm using it.

While I may be opposed to smoking more than any other person on this board, I am pleased to find the occasional celebrity that does not feel the urge to have plastic surgery to make herself younger. And for that, some of you mock her!

People, please let us not forget that this woman was a true longhaired beauty back in her prime...

I'm not mocking her at all and am pleased that she didn't feel she had to submit to plastic surgery!  However, it is undeniable that the sun and smoking aged her beyond what nature did.  My mom is about the same age as BB, but she looks a good 25 years younger because she didn't have the exposure to sun and smoke that BB did.

Not you, darling. You are way too wise for that. Scroll up and you'll see unkind words from Fatmoogas and others. In fact, those guys probably smoke while they're in the tanning booth.

Don't jump to conclusions, Kramer. I don't smoke and if you check out what I wrote it wasn't negative either. I am a long time admirer of BB. It is only stating the obvious to suggest that she took too much unprotected sun in her earlier days. On the other hand, people were not so knowledgeable about the effects of sun and aging at that time. It may also be true to say--that for whatever reason--BB has not aged as well as some people from a skin point of view. That's sad, but I'm sure she's happy with her various interests and a life that has at least entered its 8th decade. BB is an icon and will remain so in the future.
