He then said what do you use now i said water and pink lotion then he jus shook his head in disgust. He said water drys out ur hair and pink lotion drys out ur hair and makes it real brittle. So i asked him what i should use he said wild roots or brille cream. So now im goin to use that. I'm not sayn stop usn water or pink lotion but this guys legit and knows what hes talkn about.

Hair is hair no matter what you're trying to do to it. Anyway, water does dry your hair out and pink lotion is a matter of prefernce. I noticed that it made my hair feel brittle and dry so I don't use it.

Water does not dry out the hair, its the top of the list as the best moisturizer, that is why it is one of the main ingredients in most products.
So what if he shake his head in disguss, don't mean he know it all espcially if he is giving out the wrong info.
edited to add: when you have a kit your hair seems different after it dries than when you have your natural texture. This is how the myth came about of water=dry hair, which is incorrect.

Yeah it curl up tighter, but when the water is in it doesn't it somewhat loosen and then the AIR hit it and it shrinks. Besides our hair curls up to retain moisture and block our scalps from the sun. Thats the good thing about our unique hair.
If water was drying wouldnt we be dehydrated because you suppose to drink more than 8 glasses of water a day. We shouldn't take baths/showers because we would be flaking, or adding lotion for moisture because of flaking since the main ingredients is water.
And grease does not equal moisture. When you go out side after it rains u say it feels humid and alot of moisture is in the air. No one says it feels greasey out side. But oil can help seal in moisture.
