Hi girls!

I will soon try the protac method, after the disastrous try with the Seamless hair from Glamourhair!
I have read carefully most of the posts on Protac of the forum, and I have read that some of you guys use Protac alone, without Liquid Gold. I know w/ Protac everybody has his own experience, for some it stays on 6 weeks, other one week, others are allergic to it etc.

- For those who tried Protac without Liquid Gold, how long do you think it can last that way?

- And also, how long would you say it takes to remove the Protac from your hair, 1 hour? More? Less?

- How long do you let the acetone or Citrus Oil stay in your hair to remove it well?

I will receive two wefts of Bohyme, one in color 24, the other color 16...the same day I take my plane back to Paris!
So I will do the install over there and will let you know how it went when I am back in a month!!
I want to take the opportunity to thank you guys for all your help, all these informative comments you've posted on this forum, your patience w/ new ones and your sense of humour too!!
You guys are great!!!

Frenchie, removing Protac alone from your hair will take all of about 10 minutes total. I let the citrus oil stay in 3-5 minutes or until the weft will come out easily with just a little tug.

Use citrus oil to remove protac and acetone to remove LG.

You could put your hair in before you even leave for the airport if you have someone to put it in for you. I have my son trained to have 5 wefts on my head in 10 minutes. I do the side pieces myself.

Good luck and have fun in Paris.

Hey again Frenchie!

I have tried Protac once.  I tried Protac WITHOUT Liquid Gold.  For me, it was a disaster, lol!

I think it may just have been b/c of my natural hair.  I think up by the roots, it is oily and I think it caused the protac to slip after ONLY a day!  My hair, as you know is super thin and fine as well.

They are SO easy to install and come out nicely as well.

I have heard many people love it and have had great success with it! Unfortunately, I just wasn't one of them!  For me wefts with LG have been a godsend!

Goodluck girl and let us know how you make out!

Thanks girls for your responses!

I would also like to know how much it takes to remove Protac with Liquid Gold?
Do you have any idea?
I know that the install is easy and quickly done, but the same day that I take the plane back to Paris, I am moving out of my place in NY to another place in NY, in the morning, so I think I'll have to take care of it once in France!! Lol
Sure I will let you know how it goes, I am very excited!!

I'm now using only Protac. I can easily wear my wefts for six weeks at a time. I've gone seven. For Protac, citrus remover is the way to go, imo. It takes me about a half-hour to remove an entire head of Protac. I rub the citrus remover on the tapes with a well-saturated piece of cotton. I only leave the remover sitting for five minutes at the most before removing the wefts. As soon as I take each piece out, I spray it with more citrus remover and IMMEDIATELY get the old Protac tape off. I've found if I wait and leave the tape on the weft with the remover on it, the tape starts to disintegrate and is a b&&&h to get off the wefts. After taking all the wefts out (and removing the tapes) I rub the citrus remover into the sticky parts and use a spoon to scrape off any big chunks of gunk on the weft or hair. Then a good shampoo and conditioning they're ready for reinstallation.
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

Awesome!
Thanks for your repply Kristie!
I saw pics of your hair, it looks no nice & shiny!
I have made a tiny try of protac (1 inch) on top of my head yesterday morning and I love the feeling, it's flat and undetectable! Can't wait to try a whole head like that w/ good Bohyme hair!
When you say you use seven rows, do you mean seven full rows or do you cut them?
How many do you install on the sides? 2 per side?
Thanks!

Thanks, Frenchie! I've been so impressed at the lack of damage with Protac that has allowed me to grow my hair out so easily.

When I had a full install (like in the pics) I had seven total layers of weft going around my head. I usually cut pieces for the back and the sides separately, and use double thickness wefts in the three top Protac tapes, with a single thickness on the lower one.

You can see in my pics that exactly a year ago, I had 1 1/2" of hair. I took my last install out a few days ago and discovered that I have the most beautiful, full, long layers going all the way down past my chin. For fun, I tried just putting one double track (in one Protac tape) very low, from ear to ear, just to get length and a longer layer at the bottom in the back. It looks amazing! I went to my stylist yesterday to razor what I'd installed to blend it, and when I walked in she thought I was wearing a wig! The last time she saw my "real" hair and cut it was in October, and she couldn't believe how thick and healthy and long my hair had grown in a year wearing Protac. She said, and I agree, that this "do" is the best for me so far. And the coolest thing is it is only one Protac'd double weft that take about 10 minutes to install and 5 to remove! I'm wearing LESS than an ounce of hair and it looks thick and long and fabulous! Protac ROCKS! (And yes, I'll post pics when I get the chance.)
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

I've used protac without liquid gold on all my clients and none of them have had a problem with slipping or had problems coming out.  They do go a bit gooey but even then you can reuse them x

Hi Amanda!
I like your work on the other website, and you got my vote!
How long in general would you say your customers keep their protac install on, without liquid gold?
Do guys mostly do double weft?
How do you stick the 2 wefts to eachother then?
Thanks again girls!

Thanks chick

Normally around 10 weeks but I always provide clients with a strip if they live far away from me as they sometimes lose just the very top section and they find it easy to pop that back in themselves.

I always double weft, otherwise its doubtful if you get the thickness they want.  You just lay the wefts staggered x

Hi Kathyan,

I saw this great demo and saved it on my computer already but it didn't seem to me that she shows how to actually attach two wefts together.
I was just wondering if the two wefts have to be glued together or something (sewed?) before being but in the Protac tape, but it looks like no, the tape does all the work!

- For those who tried Protac without Liquid Gold, how long do you think it can last that way?

I typically get 6-8 weeks per install. I have noticed no difference with the addition of Liquid Gold.

- And also, how long would you say it takes to remove the Protac from your hair, 1 hour? More? Less?

20 minutes or so for the actual removal, then followed by several shampoos.

- How long do you let the acetone or Citrus Oil stay in your hair to remove it well?

I only use citrus oil and now use a small tipped applicator bottle. I run a thin bead of oil directly on top of the tape and run a small amount underneath. I'll work it in gently and very carefully take my natural hair off the top of the tape and the underneath slides off at that point. Love it love it love it!

frenchie, pictures 6,7 & 8 in the demo shows how I attach two wefts on the tape. I put the first weft on the tape at about 1/2 way to the middle of the tape. Put a thin ayer of LG on the track the place the second row of hair over the first, about to the middle of the tape.
