nope. To put a picture in the post, the picture has to be ON the internet somewhere. Whether it be a website somewhere on the net or on a picture hosting site.

Can we post pictures the same way as uploading the avatar, go to my pictures and upload from there?

the picture needs to be hosted somewhere on the internet before you can post them here.
 
I use picturetrail.com I think photobucket is also another good hosting site
