Ok I have decided to use a semi or demi color to tone the orange. Where should I go from here I have only used permanent hair color and I have tried the ash and unred and blue drops with ash hair color and it hasnt helped. This was permanent hair color I want to go with less damage and would like a dark blonde to light brown color. My natural hair color was med brown with golden highlights and I have blue eyes. I also have grey but dont have much regrowth right now maybe 1/4 inch. I am planning on going to a salon but just dont trust them since the last 3 I have went to hasnt helped my hair at all I just still get orange from using the ash color. I dont know why I would just keep letting them try that when its been done before and doesnt work.

if your hair is super orange.. the ash color wont do a dramatic job... i once heard from a salon person that you cannot take the orange out of your hair by dying it with "ash" colors.. but it will tone it down a bit.. the best way to take orange out is bleach & toners. goodluck.
Hi, I was wondering if you have had any luck? I have them same problem and I have tried to remove it by using Nice and easy 108 just the dye without the delevoper and then applied a ash brown, but, I still have red hair. At this point I honestly do not know what to do. Please let me know if you have had any luck. Thanks

I got a reply from a certified colorist and she told me to use a neutral color in the demi peranent. I was going for a light brown color she told me to get dark blonde and do a few highlights in the fromt with bleach and a few low lights so I wouldnt have an all over color and it would look more natural. She also said this might not be corrected the first time and it could take up to 3 times to completely not see any orange. I havent tried this yet but I plan on doing it. I have researched alot and do know that demi color is the way to go to correct this because it deposits only and it is in the lift with the permanent color that turns orange.

I plan on going to the beauty shop to get mine done because Im scared actually at this point. I did talk to a rep from clairol and he told me to add 2 oz of gentle shampoo, not baby shampoo to my color and do a full head application. He also said to check the color every 5 mins while it was processing and this would tone the orange down. Then the next time I colored i could just use the regular box color. I read on another post that someone used this and got great results but I havent tried it either. I guess Im not to helpful since I havent tried either of these yet
I also called Clairol after my highlights using there tip and frost turn my hair completely red. They told be to use 108 the dye only with out the developer and to following with an ash brown with 2 oz of shampoo, but , honestly my hair is now strawberry red blonde and I want to get my medium golden brown hair back. What is demi hair color? Thanks

demi is a deposit only hair color Im not sure if I can post another website where you can go and get professional help from certified colorists. I was also told that it could take 3 applications to correct the problem so Im prepared for that I guess. The demi is not damaging to your hair though so thats a plus
