QuoteReplyTopic: protac and "flatness" Posted: September 26 2006 at 5:47pm
I'm currently wearing bohyme installed with protac just for thickness, one row in the back and one row on each side. Problem is, even though the hair adds some thickness to bottom, I feel it makes the top of my hair look thinner because the hair lays so flat to the sides of my head. Like, my hair looks plastered to my head and then it's full on the bottom - am I making any sense? I never had this problem with pinchbraids or any strand by strand for that matter. Is there any way to remedy this?
i think i know what you are describing...i use good old fashioned volumizing mousse on my own hair up top so that it will fluff out more to match the thickness of the lower hair.....also getting my weft rows as high up as possible helps too
i know exactly what you mean and i hate it. it happens to me whenever i use wefts...whether i use protac or just LG. i switched to strand by strand and the problem is gone.

Hi Lynn, maybe you can trim the hair you put on so it doesn't feel too big and unbalanced at the bottom?
I have had fusion and it looked much less natural than protac but that's just me! Maybe you can do double rows of hair on the top rows and place them high enough on your head!

IMO, fusion doesn't give nearly the amount of volume that wefts do. You
need a lot more bonds to get volume. I agree with Nursie's suggestions.
Nursie, you rock!
With the single row that I'm wearing now for thickness, any thinning of the bottom will make it too skimpy. Looks like I'll have to add more wefts and then thin out the bottom then and see how it looks. Thanks ladies!
