Thanks for the great advice... I think I've done enough damage, so I made an apointment with my stylist.  She will have a fit, but at least she'll get me back to normal with the least amount of stress to my hair.  Lesson learned :)

Please please please go to a professional.  A good colorist will be able to determine the condition of your hair and select the proper tone.

If you cannot afford to go to a salon, you will need to REMOVE the dye you have already deposited (using a product like Colorfix).  This will likely take you to a color best described as "pumpkin."  You will then want to STRAND TEST using a semipermanent color to get to the color you want.  This is corrective color and it is not easy, nor for the faint of heart.

If you do not first remove the dye you have in your hair now, no matter what color dye you use your hair will get darker (in an unattractive way). 

Really - your best bet is to go to a professional and tell him/her exactly everything you have done to your hair thus far.

Is your blonde dyed? 
 
It's extremely hard to color over blonde-dyed (or bleached) hair and make it last.  I can never get it to work and it ends up frying out the hair.  I would seek professional help to minimize damage.  Otherwise go with the other advice and try a dark neutral brown.  Stay away from golden tones....that's why you ended up with orange/red tones.   And do NOT use ASH tones....it will turn your blonde green.  I learned that the hard way!!

Go to a professional, My hairdresser told me that black and red are the hardest colors to get out hair, Reason why I decided not to go red, Or you could try using a dark brown dye

Hi. Need some advice for adjusting my coloring job.
 
My natural hair is medium/light blonde with blonde highlights.  Three weeks ago, I dyed it a light red, which faded almost completely after about a week. Then I decided to try a light brown, so I used a Light Golden Brown. The result is a light orangy-red. I'd like to get the orange out... what should I do?
