Hi,
I recently got a client that loved her gray/silver hair but unfortunatley due to medication she was taking her hair started to yellow.  She came to us to do something about the yellow patches.  Needless to say the yellow patches are gone, but her hair took an overall champagne/beige appearance.  NOW SHE WANTS HER GRAY/SILVER BACK!!!  We've tried everything, toners, shimmerlights shampoo, we can't make this lady's hair gray again....ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!?????

Well first we tried what we call a "french fluff" a mixture of bleach, developer, water, shampoo that bought the hair up about 1-2 levels and faded the yellow and we used "yellow-out" shampoo, but because of the bleach her hair wen't beige/champagne blonde...NOT the gray she originally wanted.  The we tried a Loreal product for grey hair, it was a toner but the hair turned a blonde/STEEL color  it was awful.  Hope this helps.

The only thing I can think of doing is to use an artificial pigment remover like Modultate/ Phantom, it is made by Scruples. That should shrink anything that was put on after, and it should rinse away, then, hopefully, you can go over with the appropriate toner color.
That should get you close, and then she will just have to grow out. If I have any other ideas, I'll let you know.

Great!! Thanks for your help. Clap I'm going to tell them about your suggestion.  I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a decent color removing product anyway, even if it doesn't work LOL!!  Thanks again, I appreciate any of your suggestions.  I need something to work soon...this lady is WACKO!!Wacko

I get my products from Sally Beauty Supply.  That's where I get Wella.  I wish they offered more brands though.
