What metal said, but if it's lower down, you can put extensions above it (in my experience) which kind of tame it down and cover the cowlick.

Generally speaking you can only put extensions  on an area on the head where you have other hair that will lay over the extension attachments to conceal it.  So if your area is at the very front of the head, I'd have to guess that you probably couldn't disguise the extension bonds, so it's probably not a good idea.
 
Furthermore, I don't like the idea of putting extensions in a cowlick area.  In a cowlick area, the hair is 'planted' in the head in a swirl type pattern, and I have found that it increases your chance of matting at the root as the extensions grow out due to the direction of the hair's growth.

Hi, I have a 'cows lick' at the front of my hair, so can never get it to sit properly. I am wondering if getting some extensions to the front of my head would help?
