Oh man, go easy on the straightening, it's the most damaging styling you can do. I spent a lot of money on a top of the line straightener thinking it would barely damage my hair, along with protecting products, and straightening (around 3 times a week) ruined my hair. By the time I realised that I had to stop, my hair was gross. Anyway, be careful.
I can see you are passionate about your hair stylers and so 'm trying to make people aware of breast cancer month and GHD are currently donating £10 for every pink straightener bought, why not
buy one and then you can be doubly satisifyed that you are helping
someone out and getting good hair!

Sedu or Solia. You can't go wrong with those. They can handle any hair, and they have temperature control. I have a Sedu and LOOOOOVE it! Nothing works for my hair like it. I hate Chi, it dries your hair out too much (you won't see it right away, but you'll see it) and they short out in like 9 months. Plus they are ceramic coated, not real ceramic. GHD has no temperature control, and all of the suden they just short out on you. Bio-ionic sucks (believe me I know)so not worth the $398.
I hear Paul Mitchell makes a really good iron as well, but that one, I haven't tried.
But for me, is Sedu or Solia all the way. They ROCK!!!. I've had my Sedu for 2 1/2 happy years now, and it is working like the first day.
My daughter also insists on straightening her lovely wavy hair. She has 3 different straighteners but swears by the ghds she bought from a well known auction site. Her friend paid an extra £30 for the same ones in the High Street.
ceramic straightner would be good with a lot of straightning products, because thick curly hair will be hard to straighten out, Dont know why you want to straighten such nice curly hair embrace it you might be better off for xmas going to the salon to get your hair straightened, your hair will be difficult to do every day.
i would suggest a sedu flat iron or a solia......folica.com has a list of the best straighteners and the it can also be perchased there.they have great customer service and fast shipment.

Meant to add, I have very thick hair and they leave my hair soft, smooth, and shinny , just remember to always use a thermal protector before using straightener's on hair.
