Hey! I know where you are coming from..bout 2 yrs ago..whenever I combed my hair..it would just shed and I thought it was normal but then I found motions and now my hair doesnt shed or come out..I mean maybe like a few strands a day.
I use motions Protein Treatment and it works miracles...LOOL...now the only product I use is motions..I use the shampoo, relaxer, moisturizes..its a brand I can trust...you also have to do work your self..I wash my hair everyweek and I make sure I use treatments and I most def used treatments when I relax my hair....and wrapping your hair with a satin scarf before you go to bed should help 2..lool...Im new to the forum..hoped I helped a bit
Is it breakage or shedding from the root? If it's breakage I agree with carameldiva on the protein treatment. Always use a moisturizing conditioner after you do a protein treatment. If it's shedding garlic shampoo might help.
You may also have to go on the hunt for a really good detangler. A lot of ladies that stretch use detanglers with a lot of slip to help them with newgrowth.

Keisha, Are you sure that you are not experiencing seasonal shedding?
If it is not then i would suggest a good protein treatment ( Lamaur's bone marrow or Jherri Redding's 100% natural protein conditioner(add a couple of tablespoons to my cholesterol) ). HTH.
Me and you, your cousin and your momma too rollin on da strip on bow's
