This is only my second post, In my first I was so excited and I ended up ordering Jetset hair, they were out of their color rings so I went with the color names and pictures and what myself and stylist thought would work.... received it and the colors were soooo wrong:( I have cool and warm tones in my hair (highlights and lowlights)  When I received my hair the blonde was yellowie and the other was very reddish(was supposed to be an ashier color). So sadly I sent it back.

Then I wanted to order bohyme but was a little nervous of what color I would get and I didn't have the time and patients to wait for color samples and then wait for the order, so then I wanted to order elite thermofiber but they were all out of #613. What I ended up doing was ordering some of the mixed colors of elite thermofiber from shrinkies and some single wefts of #613 bohyme from Sherrie:)

My question: Is this going to work?? Can I mix the two together since one is real hair and one isn't? I am going so nuts, I have wanted extensions for sooooo long and I finally found this site and realized how easy it would be to do my own install with protac (which I also ordered from Sherie) I would love to hear some experiences others have had with mixing hair color and real and not so real hair together. Hair will be here next week and I'm getting nervous that something else isn't going to work for me.

Hi brakenzie, welcome!

I wouldn't mix the two together. I've mixed with a different type of synth called Plastikhaar and also with human hair on separate installs and I removed in less than a week. With the distinct differences in hair and fiber, it was a difficult maintenance. Thermal synth needs to be wet/damp when curled. Human hair won't curl the same as the synth if you attempt it wet. My recommend is one or the other but not both.

I think you will have great success with the elite and bohyme.  One of my clients wanted to test out the bohyme.  So we first reinstalled the bohyme but left out the top layers.  We installed the thermo for the rest and she absolutely has fell in love with the thermo enough to convert over to 613 thermo.  She's come mid December so I will be posting pictures.  She keeps e-mailing me every bloody day to find out if her thermo is here lol x

I think to clarify because the bohyme still has its cuticles but they are sort of shaved flat this works but another brand I can't comment on x

Dang! I sit corrected.

I have entertained not mixing and doing 2-4 rows of human underneath and the thermo on top so I can curl independently. Think that would be a better go of it Amanda?

OK. . . What if I installed the thermo for bottom and middle, and bohyme(#613) only on top, then I could pin up the bohyme while I style the thermo, take bohyme down and style. Do you thing that would work or will it all get mixed together too much? Sorry about the stupid questions my brain has been working way too hard lately... ha ha
                               OR
Should I just buy #613 in WAWA hair and mix that with the thermo? Although I am a little nervous that the WAWA won't look as nice the bohyme especially since it will be on top. I would have liked it all to be elite thermo but the #613 is out of stock:(

Hey Amanda, Thanks for the geat post of your friends experience! I am glad to hear that it was a good one, how long did she leave the combo in for? Do you know of any kind of seperate "chores" came along with it like shampoo, conditioner and styling differences she had? Was it installed with protac, if so how did each hold up? Did you take any questions?

Sorry for Soooooooooo many questionsSmile

She has had the combo in around 5 weeks now.  She says there is no difference in washing etc and then she just sets it all in heated rollers and off she goes.

Amm - I'd defo try that x

Well I have done one install with Elite thermo and some human hair mixed in on the first...my current install is wawa synthetic and jetset human hair on the top.....if I had to wear syn. hair all the time I wouldn't like it....but I can deal with it mixed....that way I can get some curl without spending forever trying to get the syn. to curl....not to mention it shortens the like of the syn. everytime you try to curl.....atleast I can get some flip on top and not have to curl the human everyday...cause it still has body in it even after sleeping on it....but I love the colors the synthetic comes in...but I will be ordering the bohyme next time.
Thanks,
JeepGirl

Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!
