Hi there:)
It's time to buy new hair, after three months of bohyme silky straight being in. I really like the silky straight. My natural hair is straight and fine, but the ends do wave just a little. The silky straight isn't as fine as my natural hair.
So, I have been thinking that I'd love to have a wavier texture so that I didn't have to wash and curl with a curling iron every day, which is pretty damaging and time consuming. I was thinking of buying the bohyme french refined for my next install...so, will it blend alright with my natural hair, as I've described it?
I'd love to hear as many opinions as possible, pretty soon, I want to order some hair!:) Thanks ladies!:)

I just installed the french refined and I have naturally wavy hair, almost curly. To be honest it is more on the curly side to me than the wavy side. It is pretty substancial in that I don't find it a real fine hair, mine is much more fine but it blends beautifully. It is lusciouslly soft, but my overall opinion is its a little too curly for me. Many many others on this forum absolutely think it is the best thing going. I don't think you'd like it if you like the silky straight, but that's just me and my little ole opinion.

I agree with some of what nomorebaldie said. If you are a fan of the silky smooth texture of Silky straight you may not like the French Refined. I absolutely LOVE the silky smoothness of the Silky Straight hair. And I miss that with the french refined. However, it takes alot more work to get my dry, parched, damaged hair (slightly wavy/frizzy not smooth at all hair) to blend with the silky straight. Overall, I like the LOOK of the finished hairdo better when wearing the SS, even though its more WORK for me. On the upside of the French refined. It maintains the volume and doesnt go flat. I can go a couple of days with out washing (if necessary) and doesnt take much to maintain. I can be alot more slacking with French Refined and it still looks good. And is far less work to blend my natural hair with the Fr Ref. So French Refined is definitely less work for me. Though the finished look isnt as smooth, silky and soft like the SS.

I'm not as worried about the soft texture, as I am about the appearance/blending issues. My hair is pretty damaged (from some botched bleaching a year ago...), and so it's never been easy to blend it with the silkiness of the silky straight. I have to curl the SS or it looks not 100 percent blended. My only concern is the curly factor and being able to blend only slightly wavy hair with it. Sherrie, it sounds like you have a great time with that, but from what you said, nomorebaldie, I am not sure if it would be too curly and look silly. Hmmmm, I'll have to sleep on it I guess:) Anyone reading this, feel free to speak up with your opinion!:)

I loved the Bohyme models french refined, it looked great on her so I thought I'd give it a try. If your hair isn't "french refined" to the scalp, there are blending issues. I had to try and smooth it to blend with my own which was pretty labor intensive...and french refined straightened definitely is coarser than ss. I'd rather curl ss than smooth french refined.
I love the FR texture, but I have to use a 3-prong waver on the top of my hair to get it to blend. Most FR hair is more on the loose curl side rather than the wavy.
Yeah, actually, I have naturally wavy hair, but FR is more of a curl. I thought it would blend perfectly with my hair, but it's slightly too curly for my hair. I have to spray and scrunch a lot.
Metal, that's a good I dea, I am going to use the 3 prong one next time to try to do the top.
I definately love it more than words, but it has a lot more curl than I ever thought, like for my hair, I need something between SS and FR

I wore the FR for a while, never tried the SS but I had no problems
blending the FR although I never work it natural. I had odd
natural hair, coarse looking but very soft and slippery feeling and
naturally curly......there isn't anything out there that would blend
without a little work.
My favorite blending tool is the conair hot rollers with the velvet
coating, I've blended everythng from indian hair to jet set straight
with no issues at all :) The Bohyme FR is on my list of favorite
hair, at least when I was blonde, but I don't think the old perm look
would blend with anyones hair unless you had an old perm lol.......it
definitely doesn't match any natural curl I have ever seen but it
straightens great with the blowdryer and does give you alot of added
body.
Wearing 22" 8oz Tease I tips installed with silicone microrings.
I've worn fr in the past but had it braided in. That way my slightly wavy hair didn't stand out, because I had it braided all over the crown... . I don't mind the braids showing...people thought it was an artsy thing I did with my own hair so no one knew it was added!
So if you want that curly look without blending issues, that is the way to go IMO. Good luck!

I tried FR from an Ebay store, that was IMO VERY curly. From reading about the FR texture, I kept seeing that it was the most versatile texture because you could blowdry straight or wear wavy. I tried to straighten it some near the crown to make it blend with my own straighter hair, but it was a basic impossibility. I took the hair out days later. I have not tried Bohyme's FR, so don't know if it is easier to tone down the wave pattern.
I have seen on the Bohyme site a texture called French Body, which looks like more of a barrel type curl as opposed to a tight wave. I've never heard anyone on the board mention it. It's hard for me to get a true sense of the wave/curl patterns of the various Bohyme hair on their website because they show you 1 picture with a wierd style, not the natural texture of the hair (in many cases anyway). Also, they have 8 different textures shown under the Bohyme Gold line, but it seems most everyone uses SS or FR. It would be great to hear more about the other textures - if anyone has tried them.

Some of the textures in the gold line are new, and some are very limited in length and colors so thats why I think we dont hear much about them.
So basically there are 4 textures in the gold line that have been around and used the most.
silky straight
bodywave
french refined
deep wave
the velvet luster is beautiful, its also referred to as yaki smooth.
the french body and soft wave are new and so far only available in dark colors and shorter lengths. The euro body is the only hair in the Bohyme line that is indian hair.
I have no problem getting the Bohyme FR straight. I havent had it PIN straight, and havent tried. But even straightened it wont look silky smooth like the SS. I think the hotter the temp of the flatiron and with product the smoother/straighter you could get it.
