The only flat Iron I will ever use is the Chi It is the best out there it is pricey but it is worth every penny. the ceramic plates keep the moisture in your hair and seals it making it so shiny and it is the "good" kind of heat for your hair

LadyFlash, your hair is beautiful.

The gold-n-hot i have are gold plates...not the same as ceramic plates, huh?

LadyEsquire, you know they say the ceramic flat irons are better for your hair. You should definitely invest in an iron that has ceramic plates if you are going to start flat ironing.

I tried the solia on my whole head and everyone kept commenting on how beautiful my hair looked. (I really need to post a picture) My hair was so shiny and silky looking. It really helped to bring out the health of my hair. All those conditioning treatments have been working ladies! I don't think I'm going back to the hair dresser again!LOL Yeah! More money for me!
Now I just have to work on the PJ addiction.

i am glad you asked this question. i have only tried to flat iron my hair 2 or 3 times. i have a cheapie gold-n-hot, and was not please with the results at all. back then, when i first tried to flat iron, i really was still learning. but now, i have been doing this for a while now, so i will try again.

if i get the same poor results, maybe i should invest in a better quality iron like solia, maxiglide, or chi.

Folica has a section where you can see what people say about products before you buy them. Good Luck

my solia came yesterday. Wow folica.com is fast! I tested the iron on a section of my hair and was pleased. No pulling, it just glides right through and it made my hair which was already shiny at the time even shinier and silky! I can't wait to try it on my whole head!

First I want to say thanks ladies for all the great hair advice. With your help I have formulated my own hair regimen that includes more conditoning and moisturizing and my hair is beautiful! I need to upload a new picture so you guys can see the amazing improvements.

Anyway, I'm now to the point where I think I've learned enough about taking care of my hair that I can just do it myself without the weekly visits to the dominican hair salon. (I go so I can get those sexy straight styles)

So I'm hoping to get some reviews for the best flat irons for "our" hair.
In particular, has anyone tried the Solia?

Thanks again! Happy Healthy Hair!
