How long continuosly do you brush for. Mention ur time or number of strokes [and ur brush(es)] too. Personally, i start of with a 2min comb over then with a medium brush complete 100strokes on each part of my head (right front, right back, left back, left front, topleft, topright, back)Then i go over with a softy 50 strokes. It usually takes me 10-15 minutes if i am moving pretty fast.
BTW i am trying to compare brushing length to wave quality. I will check your sigs and PLEASE be honest.

i use a soft brush most of the time, i come my hair in the shower then i brush each side about 50 times sometimes like 70, but then on the other hand when im not counting how much i brush my hair on each side i just brush until i cant possibly brush anymore but i make sure taht im brushing evenly and not to much on one side
I brush while im in skool 1 & 2nd periods because my teacher doesnt care...then after skool i brush until i get in da shower which is usually at 10 lol. So i guess that means i brush my hair ALOT.

lol i guess im might brush the least. but i brush a MAX of 10 minutes a day. too much sh*t to do. some days i dont even brush just palm my hair down with carrot creme then durag.
im on my grind now cuz im trying to straighten out my waves up top and its working too. and im trying to bring in my right side with the quickness lol. im brushing at least an hour a day concentrating on my top right and my right side. but id guess about an hour and a half to 2 hours+ a day. not to mention combing....
im gettin there

What up??????? Been awhile for me comin back to this site....... well when it comes to brushin "NOW", i only brush for 2-3 mins. wit just Pink Lotion. My waves always stays fresh as soon as i give myself a haircut. If your a BIGINNER, i'd say brush a max of 25mins. per day i guess, cuz right now i brush 5 mins. or unda per day.... waves won't leave me unless i go bald.
my theory is is that if you want bigger waves you cannot just wolf. You need to also use a harder brush. Because a harder brush pulls on your hair rite. So if your hair is constantly stressed it will make your wave frequency lower. Anyone agree?Dissagree? Why?

i gave up on wave science years ago but if you think about it wouldn't a hard brush force your waves down rather than drag it? hard brush bristles don't move while a soft hold on to a certain spot as long as it can while you move the brush streching the hair out.
Aka Doc Shock

I think of a softy as a detail tool. A hard brush latches onto a curl and takes it as far as the curl will hold on. But a softy "pushes" your waves making your pattern more uniform. If you had pretty straight hair previously a softy would be more effective to push your hair(making a bend in your hair). A person would need a hard brush if they had tight curls to stretch the curls more than someone with "soft" bigger curls.

i tink shockwave rite...if u use a soft or a medium...medium especially..it dragz on ya hair..derez all dat friction...n it stays n da same spot gettin all da hairs in dat spot...a hard brush DOES flatin it..n it hurts:(...use a medium 2 streth ish out
