There's nothing that can be done, but just please support me. It took a couple of years to finally grow my hair long, thick, and one length. It took only a few minutes with a new hairdresser, and my hair looks like a dog chewed it. My husband doesn't understand why I cried for two days. The hairdresser said he would just layer the fron top for a little volume, I came home and found he layered the entire back (layers DO NOT work with my type of hair). I told him what I wanted (trim) and even showed him pictures of my hair from the last hair cut. My beautiful thick hair is now gone. My hair takes forever to grow. I'm so afraid now to ever have my hair cut ever again. I think I'll call him but had to grieve and vent.

I'm sorry to hear that.  That is why I avoid stylists like the plague.  I haven't gone into a salon since I was 17 (I am 32 now).  Here is a link for Feye's very easy instructions on how trim your own hair, for the future, if you decide not to ever go back.
At least if he only layered it, it will grow and you will be able to trim the layers off yourself as they grow, and you will get your hair back the way you liked it.  Good luck.

Thank you so much. I booked marked the link you sent. Doesn't look hard to do at all! From now on, no one touches my hair but me! I'll save money and heartache. I really appreciate it. Tomi Girl

Disapprove I totally agree with Susan, Tomi. What happened to you is inexcusable and a rotten shame. You need *Never!* enter a salon (butcher shop) again. There are simply too many of these skunks who do their own thing. I empathize completely, as my wife's hair has been hacked to bits by a few "stylists" in the past. And, as with you, layers detract from the beauty of my wife's straight, fine hair.
The good news is that bad layer cuts *do* fill in as the months pass, and  they do look better after a while. The differing growth rates of each hair makes them appear more natural eventually. So, my advice is to keep the remaining length, but trim an inch or so from *only* the bottom every few months.  This cut will be a bad memory in time, and it can be your choice to learn from this harsh experience. Just think, this *could* be your *final* hair "disaster" ever! That's a nice thought, esp. in light of my suspicion that your hair still looks pretty darn good now. Blessings, Bob Thumbs%20Up

I am so sorry for youCry. I know exactly how you feel. Almost two months ago, I had the same thing done to my hair. I also have sworn off hair stylists forever.Every single time I have gone to them, I am disgusted. They just don't seem to understand the phrase," Trim".
My mom is the only one who can trim my hair and really "trim" it. I agree with Bob, cutting it gradually will help take the layers off. My hair was almost waist length and was cut into an extreme V shape ending at my bra length and starting at my shoulders.
I plan on cutting the ends every so often, more than I would have normally, to help get rid of the tip of the v, pretty much the same as Bob recommended  Maybe this would work for you? Another thing you might want to look into is hair formula 37. When I stopped crieing after the cut, I did a search for natural hair growth stimulator. I found Hair formula 37. I have been taking it now for a little over a month and a half. I love this stuff and tell everyone I know about it. My hair has grown almost 2 inches since I started taking it. I promise you that I am not in any way associated with them I am just really exited about the product.
Again, I am so sorry this happened to you. But as my mom said when mine was cut, at least you still have hair, and are not going through something horrible like chemo. Best regards.

I have heard this story way to frequently lately. My sister had the most beautiful natural strawberry blonde hair that was really long. The hair stylist (after she said JUST A TRIM) layered her hair so bad,and it looked like an EMO haircut.
So she goes to have it evened out some...the lady says it is so incredabley uneven,I'd have to cut it up to your ears to fix it. So now she has hair as short as mine (well, almost)
Last time my husband had his haircut (and he is a guy so it should be EASY!!!) The lady gave him a bald spot!
Just do like me...take a biotin supplement everyday (doesnt matter which brand really) Eat well, and get lots of sleep (hair grows fastest when we are sleeping) And hopefully by summer it will be better.
Smile

I am avoiding hairdressers like the plague now.  Every time I go there they cut off far too much.  I did a mini trim myself about six weeks ago and was surprised at how well it turned out.

Good luck for the New Year! xxx
