As 2006 draws to a close, the biggest celebrity hair news for me had to be Ann Curry's major hack job on live TV by her buddy Katie Couric. To me, this was almost as disappointing as the day I learned Alanis Morrisette was no longer a long hair icon.

I think she got a Christmas trim. Here's how she looked today. Kind of matronly, in my opinion:

Oh well so much seeing her growing it out. Ann that is. We still could hope that Alanis keeps hers and keeps growing it.

I think Ann's makeover was the best celebrity hair news of the year. She looked great with it long, but it was fantastic to see her go back to something shorter. I thought Katie really enjoyed doing the honors, but lets remember they had a professional right by her side.  It was also great that they had so many people there on the plaza and nationwide via satellite donating as well.
 
A close 2nd for best celebrity hair news had to be Diane Lane's cut on the today show by none other than Ann Curry. What an awesome new look for diane as well. With that being said, I think the today show deserves an award for their work in promoting hair donation...they have some real humanitarians there.
