Hello everyone! I'm new as a member to this site, but I'm not new to this site. I come by here occasionally to get information on different hair products and other things. My question is.... How do you prepare your hair for a relaxer touch up to keep from getting chemical burns? I go to a stylist and the relaxer just seems to burn my scalp. So what do you all do to prepare to get your relaxer?
Love your imperfections they are what makes you unique.

a lye relaxer burns much more than a no-lye relaxer,putting a relaxer
on a sweaty scalp can cause burns,a relaxer for sensitive scalps maybe
wouldn't burn your scalp

Yes you should tell your stylist to use a relaxer for sensitive
scalps.Vaseline has to be shampooed out because vaseline clogs your
scalps pores causing oil folliculitis. Most dandruff is caused a fungus
the fungus grows to a large amount in a greasy or oily scalp(infrequent
shampoo causes an oily scalp).
