I never get rid of all my split ends.  The ends of my hair are so dry and fragile no matter what I do with it.  It is frustrating, but try not to give up!  Don't let it get to you so much that you cut it all off!  I finally figured out that I'd have tons of splits no matter what my hair length (unless I shaved it or something!) so I just let it go and try to do the best I can for my hair, simply knowing that it is the best I can do even though it's not perfect.

Don't give up.  I am sure you are taking better care of your hair, but you have to remember your hair has gone through ALOT of stuff before you came here to take care of it. So it takes time.  It's good that you trimmed some of your hair, now you have less damage and less splits to worry about...see it as a positive.

I know, seeing the results that you want right away would be better but everything takes time.  Taking care of your hair and growing it out is a learning experience and it really tests your patience level and that lessen can help you throughout life.   So I recommend that you  put your hair into a style that will allow you to have mornings free for a while and sleep in...don't worry about the hair much and you will see some growth  etc.

lyrical, girl, do NOT give up.  cause ya know that will not make the situation any better.  reexamine your daily handling of your hair, your products, and take notes of how your hair reacts to certain styles, prods, etc....

i have felt that way many times.....

this too shall pass

Aw.  Don't give up!  For awhile, I felt the way you were with hair.  It was all broken off and short last year before I became here.  I was 2 inches, I guess.  No where near obtaining a ponytail.  Now I'm almost 7 inches or so, and I have been trimming and transitioning.  I've made great progress, but guess what?  I STILL HAVE BREAKAGE.  It's not as extreme as it was in the past, but I have got it down to the very minimum.  Because I'm not going to cut off mass amounts of my hair at all during transitioning, it's really a detriment to my hair.  I deal, and try to be careful.  Imagine the pain I feel rocking a half curly head, with random relax ends fro.. A DAMN MESS.  -- But I'm trying to protect
it from as much damage as possible and it works.  One day I'll reach a fine medium with unstretched hair down to my belly button.. and you will too!  Good luck.  It's just another learning experience.
