I found this on Youtube:

It's pretty much the same info I have in the handout I got at my wig making class.  Here is the handout that I received in the wig making class.  I have some hand written notes in the margin.  Basically follow the steps:

starting knot # 4 on   diagram
basic weft # 1 on diagram
ending knot # 5 on diagram

Numbers #2-3 are just really illustrating the continuation of step #1.

Check it out!

it looks so easy!!  i think i will try this!  what a great way to custom blend your own color!!

what other line would you use instead of fishing line?  would hair sewing thread work?

Clap  many thanks!!

Not just regular sewing thread, it would break far too easily, I suggest you read the other weft making discussion here, there's plenty of info there about my experiments ;)

I've made a few wefts for myself, and I used upholstry thread that you can buy in any sewing store.

I imagine some of the stronger beading threads like nymo, c-lon, or fireline would work too.

Keep a spray bottle and work with the human hair damp, it's more pliable when it's damp.

Hey Diva V,

Feel free to share with info with our sisters at BHM.Smile

Those are my donkeys, Sonya and Valentine.  They are very sweet and they loved to be petted and brushed.
