Hi
I found this, hope it helps.

How to Choose the Perfect Blond for Dark Skin Tones

Instructions

  • STEP 1: Get to know your skin tone. If you are unsure what your skin tone is, seek the help of a professional who can give you advice.
  • STEP 2: Avoid any blonde that has yellow undertones if you have dark or olive skin tones.
  • STEP 3: Ask a stylist to recommend a flattering hue of blond hair color for you. Your blond hair color should have deep golden hues to it. Avoid very light blonds as they won’t work with your darker skin tone.
  • STEP 4: Try asking your stylist to add subtle honey blond highlights in the front and side sections of your hair to draw attention to your face and features.
  • STEP 5: Look for blonde hair color labeled as dark golden blonde or light golden brow if you plan to color at home. These will compliment your coloring.

Tips & Warnings

  • Carmen Electra is the perfect example of how a deep golden blond works for darker skin tones.

Overall Tips & Warnings

  • For all blond hair colors, especially the lighter ones, invest in a shampoo made especially for blonds. It will help prevent your beautiful blond from turning brassy.
  • Want a blond hair color that will really get noticed? Ask your stylist for the smuding technique. Starting at the roots, panel of progressively darker blond are applied throughout the hair to the ends. This gives a gradual lightening effect.

Not anything too light,it will look un-natural. I would try a caramel blonde color.

I am on here searching the best way to color my hair also being darkskinned myself. Or even a way to braid all my hair up with extensions because I don't want to damage by hair by bleaching. But IMO, having a light blonde isn't Un-natural just not common to society. I have been wearing a light blonde wig just to get a fill if I like the color or not on me. I have also tried a multi-colored highlighted one which I find cute too. But me, being me, I like to be totally different and it shows in my style and personality when people isn't use to something different.

Needless, to say, I do get looks or even laughs but that doesn't stop me (even though sometimes it may hurt esp. by black people lack of understanding). I think the color looks beautiful on me with my skin color and the feeling I get when wearing it. My only problem is blending right now whether to braid all my natural hair up or color/bleach my hair to blend with my extensions.

Beautiful kids in New Guinea with beautiful light blonde locks.

As for you Colorlover14, do you. Try it out. See if it works for you. A combination of blonde colors look good on most of dark-skinned people but you are not limited to certain colors but limited to your own likes.

I didnt say blonde would look bad, just not Pamela Anderson blonde or white blonde!  I actually think people with darker skin look better blonder because they dont look as washed out as fair skinned people do.
Alot of people (including myself at times) make the mistake of going too blonde, was all I was saying.

Thanks Embarrassed

I wasnt saying it because you have darker skin. I was just saying over-bleached hair in general I dont think looks good. Heck,I wish my skin was darker! Why do you think all these celebs do the fake tans? Cuz being blonde looks better with darker skin.
I too think you should do what makes you happy. Have you done anything yet?

Don't me wrong julesy, nothing personal against you. I just wanted to bring the issue up. To educate, if you will. I agree with you, I believe dark skin with blonde hair does look better just as a little tan look good on most celebs.

As for wigs, you can find some at a beauty supply store. (I don't know where you located) The cheapest ones are twenty dollars.

Bleaching can be tricky. I had black hair once that I was trying to bleach blonde. The first time it didnt go light enough,so I had to bleach again. It still looked orange. I finally fixed it by dyeing it with an ash blonde.
