To the original poster here with the wonderful photographs, I don't think you need to lose weight at all. You are a beautiful girl and your hair is in fabulous condition!

A belated comment, as fairly new to this group. Neither hair style is your optimal style and here's why: the first one with heavy straight bangs/frings (for you UK folks on here!) on you with a more round than oval face makes your face look even rounder and sad to say a bit more "fat" as a result. You pulled your hair behind your ears which left them sticking out giving a bit of "pixie" elf look to you (as a pre-surgery consultant to patients might suggest getting your ears pinned to reduce this effect, which also emphasises a round wider face) and your big open eyes adds to this "elf-like" appearance. You look young and unfortunately more "fatty young" at that with an odd elf look, which is not to say you didn't look "cute" but perhaps not in the way you prefer to be at this point in your life. Kinda of reminds me of the wonderful drawings of very BIG open eyed young girls that one sees sometimes as a signature look...(can anyone name this artist being referred to here?). Also beware of chin-length hair cuts when you have a round face as this adds to the wide look...again it goes contra to what you try to do with hairstyles which is to balance our flaws...not emphasis them!
The second photo above, without any bangs, is more mature looking but without any real style to me, especially with the flat look and ears still sticking out (though less noticable since no hair is in front of the ears protruding). Your hair is just slicked down and pulled back out of the way...the way I see many "before styled" hair shots looks but lacking the "after" professional haircut and style. What I suggest (as just one possible solution) is a more layered look where the hair is allowed some free floating freedom that covers at least half to 3/4 of your ears and with either wispy bangs or slight wings that might go to your nose tip, to be sprayed or pinned back. Someting a tad longer than chin with the longest lower segments but shorter on top. That would be more flattering, mature, stylish and even more sexy for you. And as a side note, losing some facial fat by losing weight overall would also make you a bit more attractive, in the face and otherwise. Otherwise you do have pretty facial structure, features, and smile, but what you show lacks the most attractive "frame" for that pretty picture of a face!
Hope this view helps others even if too late for the orginal poster, but BTW, I must say THANK GOD! someone bothered to show photos by which to give advice on...what a tremendous help! I would suggest researching facial thirds (vertical divisions) and fifths (horizontal segments) to better understand the generally recognized "beauty" balance relationships, to which I well allude to above.

Well i'd like to see a pics or two of your new style as i was going to suggest a much shorter style, a longish crop if that makes any sense or a pixie cut with layers all over. Modern, stylish, pratical, and most importantly femanime.

I got to say though I actually liked your bangs. We call it a fringe in the UK by the way :) Your fringe made you look very sweet and when you get to a certain age you'll be wanting to make yourself look younger. I can't wear fringes myself, my skin won't tolerate it!

Thanks :) Got my hair cut yesterday, and I think it looks a lot better. No true bangs, just some angling so that it's not quite so blunt. Changed my part, too, which makes a big difference.
I'm trying to decide if I want to go ahead and chop it off or not. I don't want to look like a 12 yearold again, so do you guys have any suggestions on what style of haircut I should get? Thanks!
If you do decide to go short again, I would avoid the straight across bangs as shown in the first picture, as those make one look younger. Try longer, angled bangs instead.

I've donated my hair every two years for the past 7, with last June being the most recent one. It was the shortest I've ever had my hair. Here's just after I had it cut:
I have baby-fine hair that gets oily really easily. I had been growing it out again so I can donate it again, however, for several reasons I am considering cutting it short again. 1) it's MUCH easier to keep it clean when it's short, 2) it tangles easily, and my scalp is sensitive, so having it short alleviates much brushing, 3) shorter hair looks fuller, 4) I'm studying abroad for a year and like the idea of having a fresh look for a new life overseas. Here's a more recent picture of me, my hair is only an inch or so longer now:
