You nailed the cause perfectly - stress can definitely cause and aggravate trichotillomania (that's it...). Are you going through certain life events that are particularly stressful to you? Once they are done, hopefully you will be more relaxed, and the condition will ease up. In the meantime, try to take time out of every day to unwind. Take a warm bath, read, meditate, do yoga, or just any activity that you could enjoy free from outside interruptions. Make the most of this time. If you still are having problems, try doing whatever you can to alleviate what is stressing you, if possible. I wish you all the best of luck and health - peace be unto you.
I had a widows peak hairline, and right at the front, the 'peak', my hair is getting thinner, noticeably but not extremely so.
I put this down to hair breakage, which I am suffering from quite a bit, and more importantly down to stress. Stress often causes me to pull or twiddle my hair particularly at the front of my head, and I think this may be causing the problem most likely.
I do not have any family history of any hairloss conditions, or the hairloss to be near enough the compulsive hairpulling condition I have heard about (the name escapes me just now). But I am worried that it may end up like that if I do no act soon on it. Any advice?
