I had a great person doing my hair for the last six years, and was very expenssive, but she left and moved to south africa. It took me a lot to find someone I really trusted, but now i tried to do it myself and it went from a buetiful blonde to a nasty orange...how do I get it out.... I just want my preety blonde hair back, she used to use something to keep the red/brassiness out does anyone knows what that might be ....please
Yes, you need to know a lot about how dye works to get good results
yourself. If you want to go blonde, you will need blonde dye with
a green or blue base to counter the orange that comes out. Its
easier to get a pro to do it if you can than learning all about how
hair dye works.
I'm not a pro, but I can tell you how to do this, as I've done it
plenty of times before. If you do want to do it yourself, don't
go for boxed colors at the drugstore, you don't know what base is in
those. Get your dye and developer at Sally or another beauty
supply shop (its cheaper that way anyway). The base will be
written on the dye, you need a blonde with green or blue as the
base. Do not get violet, or neutral, they will only make your
hair more orange. The developer you choose will depend on how
light you want your hair. 40 is very strong peroxide, 20 is
weaker, you probably don't want to go less than 20 since you want to go
blonde. Don't forget to test strand everything to avoid making
big mistakes. If you really do want to learn to do it, I'd
suggest reading Claude's sticky at the top of the hair color forum
here, it has much basic info.
