yo fellaz trust me on this....softie's work.....use a hard and then a softie while someone is watching you and they will tell u the difference.  I was skeptical at first but I had witnesses who told me that it made a difference.

When i started i mostly used a medium brush but since i got this cut i've been using a softy for an hour and a half or more a day to try perfecting my connects. but it takes a while!

i think that's a myth, i still yet to see that proven through before and after pictures.  And my softies have never shown me extreme success with straightening either.  I say hard when its messy, and soft when its neat, like a final touch. its like a wood finish, rough sandpaper to even it out (hard brush) fine sandpaper to smooth it make it pretty (soft brush) and then maybe some wood stain or polyurethane to give it that shine and keep it lookin new longer (pomade/lets jam)

LOL now thats a metaphor if i ever seen 1

Well for me.. softy straightens out ur waves... while if u use str8 hard brushes.. it gives u dat crooked look.. but softy.. is also good for ur connection..  u dont have to use it tho.. personal preferences
