I colored some hair extensions (human ones from Sallys) and it was supposed to be red. However it turned out more brownish/copperish. How can I lighten or make the hair more strawberry/red/light auburn color?

So that will actually lighten , even though it isn't a bleach etc. I always thought adding color to color just made it darker, not brighter etc. Thanks, I will try that.

Yeah, typically, I believe if you want to make it lighter, you can't put color on top of color to make it lighter. If you only want to lift it a little bit, it probably wont be that damaging to just bleach it and watch it closely. Do a strand test to make sure it does bleach. Some of that hair from Sally's is not very...bleach-able.

Color cannot lift color.  A mixture of powder bleach, shampoo, and  a little bit of water will lift the color a bit.  It should only take a few minutes.

Good luck.
