White spots may be caused because of a calcium deficiency I suppose... but I have always gotten white spots after I flicked my nail on something hard by accident. I think that is the true answer.

I researched it online and white spots can be caused by a zinc and/or calicum deficiency. Other things also. Check out one of your search engines.....they have a ton of different sites with answers. I was amazed. Always am by the amount of information on the internet.

My guess would be stress. I know stress causes vertical lines so maybe white spots are from stress also. Course, could be an illness. Be interesting if someone answers that knows for sure....I'm just guessing.
