Hi! I found this board while searching for help with my hair color crisis. Against my better judgement, I used a L'Oreal Coleure Experte kit on my hair last night. I have dark blond hair and wanted to go a bit lighter and add some highlights, so I used the kit that was Toasted Coconut/Medium Blond (cool). My hair is now a medium to medium light blond, but it is so warm! It looks terrible on me because of the orangish/gold hue. Went to Sally's today and was advised to use an ash blond toner with a color developer and drops of violet added in. It had little to no impact. Any advise on what to do now? I HATE my hair color. Would a shampoo for brown hair help? Or can I recolor it (which I'm terrified to do). I really can't afford to go to a professional right now. Thanks!!

I've used that color before and got REDDDD.  It was pretty, but too bright.  What I did was live with it until next root touch up time.  Try changing to Miss Clairol...only touch up your roots and when you rinse the color out it should tone down the color a bit.  Try the MOONHAZE.  The moongold is warmer--actually golder, which I like.

If you really cannot stand it then get a demi, L'Oreal has color gems and Clairol has their line--forget the name.  I have found through experimentation that Clairol is not as warm as L'Oreal.  Anyway, strand test a medium ash color and see if that tones it down a bit.

I started using Moongold awhile ago and now I'm pretty happy with my color.  Not so RED, but more natural and medium golden blonde, which I like.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
