QuoteReplyTopic: Clip-In Extensions Advice! Please Help! Posted: May 07 2007 at 10:35am
Hello all,
I'm new here, so I should probably start by saying hi, I'm Georgia and I'm from the UK.
Right...
Basically I'm looking to invest in some clip in hair extensions to wear mainly for special occassions, going out at the weekends etc.
Only, honestly, I have no idea where to start!!
Ok so I've got naturally light brown/dark blonde hair which I highlight, so its light blonde, with loads of different shades, and rather dry and frizzy, and just past my shoulders.
I'd like my hair to be just below breast level, and preferably a mix of different blondes because my colour does tend to fade and I really want them to look natural.
I've been looking on eBay a lot, but I'm really worried about getting ripped off and not getting good quality hair etc.
I've read a lot about making your own extensions, but again I really don't have a clue how to go about that. Where do I buy the hair? The clips? How would I go about sewing them in?
Sorry, I've read a lot of posts on here, which probably do answer some of my questions, but I'd really appreciate if someone could try and explain a little more to me, because I'm still rather confused!
Also sorry for all the rambling, I'm just really keen to get these extensions as soon as possible as my prom is coming up but I want to make sure I do it right.
Thank you so much, all advice is very much appreciated.
Georgia x

there are tons of places to buy the hair, clips, etc. there is a list of links of the members favorites in the extensions 101 FAQs I believe. Many are however based in the US, but they all ship to the UK as far as I know.
With the clips you want wig clips, also sold by most of the retailers, and you want the color to match the hair. If you get HH you can actually dye the hair you purchase to match you own. Or if you don't want to go through that hassle you could buy the brands color ring that shows what each color looks like - the numbers DO NOT match dye numbers.
I don't know much about sewing the clip-ins, usually its best to refer to tutorials for that. doctoredlocks.com has a a wealth of tutorials.
