THe way I corrected that problem, is after washing my hair...I would moisturize it and then pull it into a bun and let it air dry about 80%. Then when it is mostly dry, I would run the blow drier through it a few strokes. Do small sections though.

I had this problem when I was relaxing too and I had to switch brands and relaxer strength to correct that problem...maybe the relaxer ur using isn't strong enough?
You know, about 6 or 7 years ago, I used to have this problem with my hair being poofy for no good reason. Then I read in a book (by a white hairstylist) that we should try a Humectant shampoo that will get rid of the swelling of our hair. I tried it and it worked! I think you can get it from any brand. I used it with Suave (that's before I found out that black people had different hair needs than whites), but I'm sure someone out there has it for us. It really helped and worked. So, you might try that and see if that helps. That way you wont have to use so many oils and what not.

Thanks. And when I dont relax, my hair tends to be very stubborn and I get breakage . I tried to "stretch" to relieve my hair but it's not for me I guess.

Not to often depending on how fast your hair grows. The key is you don't want to retouch any of your already relaxed hair. Wait until you have at least an inch of new growth, but most people with your hair type can "stretch" longer.
I have your same type hair and haven't received a relaxer in about 3 months with few problems.
I'm not to sure why a relaxer changes a few days/ weeks after it is done. I'm sure the other girls can help you with that.
How often should I relax my hair? My hair type is similar to 4a and I'm currently using a relaxer. When I normally relax, my hair is very silky and curly. I like it that way. And why is my hair more poofy than curly after a couple of weeks post relaxer? I have to put alot of oil in it for it to "act right", but I honestly think all of the oil is slowing my hair growth down. Any suggestions on my questions are wanted!! Thanks
