Do you put the chips right on you LOOF? Is that faster easier than the gun or pot? I was thinking about trying it but it seemed like it would take longer?

Yup, it plays for me..... I put the chip/pellet right on the flat part of the wand. I have no idea if it's faster/easier/better then a gun or a pot, I have never used them....
The Oran technique doesn't pre-tip at all, nor the LOOF. You just take the natural hair, pull it through the shield, join the loose extension hair to it, apply polywax(which supposedly rips your hair out, so use keratin) w/ glue gun, pinch and roll. When they use the pot the don't use the shield.
While it fulfills my "NEVER pre-tip EVER again for the rest of my life, EVER" fantasies, unless someone is handing the hair off to me it seems like it would take longer. While installing pre-tipped is a breeze it takes so doggone long to pre-tip.

Yes I have, but my work surface is so small, trying to install bulk hair is a pain in the rear. Plus, I also wear trumpet tubes, so tipping is a must. I don't mind it, and I find I can set myself in front of the TV and make good time.
It's great you have a systems that works for you so you don't have to tip, but not everyone is the same. I originally did the video for a gal over at HE101 who was having trouble tipping. I thought I'd post it over here too, incase anyone else wanted to see it done. Once you get the hang of it, I don't think it takes any time at all. You can use any hair you want and make tips any size you want. I also think it makes the install go quicker to have the hair already tipped. Just my opinion tho...

I don't use the Oran technique I pre-tip. I own the video but I've never tried it. I think it would take too long to install but I like the idea of never having to pre-tip again.
Do you lose a lot or hair from pre-tipping. I think some hairs are shorter or either slipping when they bundle the hair. I was thinking of buying hair longer than I need and cutting 1 1/2 -2 inches off the top right from the beginning. What do you do?

This is why I hate working with bulk, I prefer to tip off the weft. For bulk, I get out my hot glue gun and work some regular glue thru the top of the bulk, I work it around with my fingers(careful, hot!) and then add some more glue around the top. It make a "cap" and you lose less hair. After that, I move or add a ppony tail holder as close to the glued section as I can and then snip little section from just below the ponytail holder. It's a lot of work. I guess another option that I haven't tried yet would be drawing cards, I think a set costs around $40 - $80 bucks. I was gonna try using 2 large dog slicker brushes next time I need to work with bulk and see if that is easier w/ less waste...
