Good question. A good 360 wave barber, in many instances, will cut the thicker parts of your hair/head, like the top and back, with a certain guard and then cut the sides with a higher guard, then trim. It is with finesse and skill that a good barber knows how to cut 360 waves. And this only comes with experience.
But, please note I'm generally speaking and that all hair textures are different and require different hair cutting techniques.
