Okay, now the situation is I have to go to Florida for a week August 4-11 and I will be in the Orlando area but access to a car.

By about then, my sew in will be nearly 4 weeks in and I know some people can go 6 weeks easily but my situation is I live in the boonies of New Hampshire so if Im gonna be in Orlando for a week and its almost due anyway for tightening, get her done!

So do any of you live in Florida and have a sew in/braider you love? I can drive a little if its not Orlando. Im also cool with people's houses and it doesnt have to be a salon provided someone will vouch for them. Thanks!

I would probably just get it done before you leave (even though it's early). That way you won't have to stress about it.

Yeah I could but I mean I have to go all the way to Boston which is like 2 hours drive. I found this place and its only about 20 minutes from where I will be staying. If the weave definitely needs tightening and they can get me in, I will probably just do it there. Here is the link for the salon:

Some really nice looking braid work there. There is always the issue of do they want to deal with my hair type. Hopefully a weave is a weave is a weave? I never know how to tactfully approach it.

Yeah, I would think a weave is a weave and money is money.
Did your braider use braiding hair with your own hair? That would be my first
question.

Im not sure what she used to be honest because she was behind me. I saw her pulling thread from the side so is that braiding hair and I know she used little tiny rubber bands to further secure it. It seemed to make it very tight. Maybe i should email her and ask what she did lol. Its in there though thats for certain. Very secure and flat.

Oh! Cool. I don't have rubber bands in my tracks but I remember Mokipono did a youtube video showing how to make your own tracks with those tiny rubber bands. As long as is secure then it sounds great.

The braiding hair is either synthetic hair or human hair that is braided into with your own hair. It seems to hold the braid.

Hmm, no I dont think she used that because I only gave her the wefts. I am pretty sure she inly used very thin black thread to sew it and the rubber bands which were about the size of dental bands. I agree as long as its in there. I will pay better attention next time lol

The braider usually has the braiding hair. I don't bring that.

Hmm I dont know then. I dont think she used anything hair like and it looked more like thread. its hard to tell just by looking at the track now because its black and the hair is dark and i gotta dig to even find it . My guess is she just sewed it using thread and the bands. I would be willing to try something different but this seems good at least for now.

Not to change the subject from Orlando, but my stylist in Washington State used braiding hair, but the stylist here who did my last weave (before this fusion nightmare, LOL) didn't. I asked her about using extra hair in the braid but she didn't seem to know anything about it. Is there a website or something I could direct her to that could show her how to do it? She put in very nice small cornrows but they just don't last.

Yes i would be interested also in seeing a demo online of the braiding hair being used. It seems like a good idea for reinforcement. Now Im worried mine wont last as long without it because i do have very fine hair. It feels very tight and secure at this moment but I only had it done a week ago and only one full shampoo since then. It might get looser.
