Ta me, the durag is way too much a gangsta look for me.  I'll rock tall tees, XXL is my size, fitted, but da durag is a lil over da top.  Its way too stereotypical and it aint worth gettin looked at like u some kina criminal.  I like lookin fresh, i aint da type to wear rags n get thug tatted to ma chest, haha. But yea fa'real, good comeback on them bout how its part of urban fashion n list of people who wore em.  Also, people wit braids wear durags to keep em fresh like he said he used to.

Try it out. U might like it. It'll really test ur limits but also force u to step ur game up. If u decide to go thru wit it, u gotta be dedicated man. Go even when u don't want to go. Otherwise, u just gonna waist ur time and money unless u go to the YMCA.

But honestly tho fam, i've seen how the Y is, and they might baby you there because it's a community org. but at a local gym, it won't be like boot camp BUT they won't hesitate to be brutally honest wit you but It's cool tho, because it'll be mad motivation for u.

Just try it out while u still young and got free time on yo' hands.

In my old hometown, i went to USKO gym which was a boxing/kickboxing gym with top competing amatuer boxers/kickboxers and some pros but mostly amatuer.

Now i go to California Kickboxing club in Pasadena where they do boxing, mma, and kickboxing. They don't have a lot of competing amatuer boxers but they got a lot of pro mma and kickboxers in there. I might try at my first amatuer match once i get down to a suitable weight.

And yeah, u usually have to pay every month about $120 but i ain't trippin because i did a 6 month commitment so they take out $95 from my account monthly.

I never thought that that was a good fashion statement. I originally started wearing Du rags when I tried waving. If you catch me wearing one outside now it's because I must have just washed my hair minutes ago. Like I said before, wearing a Du rag outside is pointless if it's not helping maintain your hair.

Waaaait a minute....Am I the only one that remembers durags being part of "urban fashion"? I mean, y do u think they came out w/all the colors and prints? Matter of fact, it was the thing to wear around some hoods whether u had waves or not. Hell, I hads braids and I would wear a durag to keep them fresh, or when it was time to get them braided again. But there was a time when a durag on ya head could be part of ya outfit, and a lot of u east coast cats wore them w/a hat over the top....
For example, just to name a few: Nelly and his crew, Diddy, 50, Ja Rule, Jay-z (yes he wore them too) Mobb Deep, Mystikal, LL gay ass and I could name a lot more....

I sometimes wear a wavecap or a doorag when i go to my boxing gym. But i wear a hoodie over it because i know that people (especially white people AND cops) profile the sh*t outta u when u have em on and my gym is located in a very metropolitan upper middleclass area (similar to Georgetown in D.C.) and i don't like the stares.

Main reason i wear it to the gym is to keep my hair nice and laid down and to block the sweat from gettin to my eyes. The doorag is kinda like a headband in a sense.

But i'd never wear a doorag as a fashion statement. Only time i may wear a wavecap in public is while i am still drivin and i want to look fresh for wherever i am goin. I wouldn't wear it anywhere else in public. Too grown for that look.

BTW, i use only 1 doorag and it is white. i don't like the black one because it stains my pillows and i don't care if the white one gets stained because they are cheap anyways and i will only wear'em to work out in or sleep in.

Latez.
