Yes it does help control and lay down your waves.  It is a great method if used correctly, but it's old school.  Ced sticks with the basics, pomade and water.

I used Ced's compression method when I started waving and it worked for me.  My waves were laid down and visible.  Now, I have developed my own techniques and I've substituted pomade for LJOT.

When I first started waving, I used Ced Clark's compression method on a regular basis.  His theory on waving is "old school" classic.  It's the bare fundamentals:  a hard, medium, and soft brush, pomade, water, a durag, and dedication.

i think the compression meth helps space out his waves since hes forcing them to lay all the way down....HMMMM!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I rinse my hair in hot water but I dont dry it... I brush until its moist then I add pomade then i du-rag for the night... it give me the shine and hold of a "kit". its funny people ask me all the time if i used a kit.. I say no then most say why is it so laid down... I just smile at them.. ( Dont want to make their heads explode by explaining it.)
