Hi Everyone! I've been lurking for awhile and gathering information. I finally got around to doing my first microring install on myself about 3 weeks ago. It took me around 4 hours, but I think it was worth it!

It's Bohyme 1B  + pale blond hair from a BSS that I dyed pink + turquoise.

AFTER: (sorry for the blurry pictures!)

I LUV those fancy colors. Is the pink just dyed in or do you have some pre-dyed pink extensions too? I've been told that most fancy colored dyes wash out quickly; have you had luck with keeping it vibrant? I've got a couple clients who would rather dye chunks of red and pink in their natural hair than have me install the color with extensions but all the dyes seem to wash out too quickly.

Sorry for taking forever to respond!

Thank you, everyone. Embarrassed

Ms. Honey - I've thought about doing other colors, but the only thing permanent right now is the pink. It took a lot to get my natural hair to where it is! But I've been toying with the idea of making a turquoise wig, but I have a lot of reading to do on the forum before I begin.

Cali- Kristin
- The pink is dyed. I used Special Effects "Atomic Pink" on the palest whitest 613 hair I could find. The dyes do tend to wash out quickly, but for some reason the Atomic Pink hasn't really faded much at all, compared to the turquoise. The turquoise is Manic Panic and pretty much faded to a light sea green after the first wash. But the pink stayed bright (and is still bright now) through multiple washes. Special Effects lasts a lot lot lot longer than Manic Panic!

Wow.  So so cute.  Thanks for sharing on the Special Effects and Manic Panic.  I get that question all the time.  We used to carry the entire MP line but got a lot of feedback on fading issues.

I hope you go for the turquoise wig.  That would be a great project to learn from.  And of course hopefully you will share your photos with us as you go.  :-)

That looks cool! I love the blue against the hot pink. Its good contrast. What might look neat also when you want to change it is like a bright Amazon green against the black natural hair.

Ah! I'm going to have to remember that brand, Special Effects. I've heard a lot about the Manic Panic dye and that it faded after a wash or two.

Good to know, thank you!
