QuoteReplyTopic: Tape Install - Angie Posted: September 08 2007 at 6:29pm
This afternoon Billy & Karen & I worked putting extensions on Angie using tape. The hair was bought at Beauty Town (Kingsley & 1st Street in Garland). Billy bought the hair which was an entire bag (approx 8 ounces) of gold Euro. It is called HH gold. It was 16" long and Billy took a color ring to match the color of Angie's top blonde highlights.
The tape was Topstick HairPiece Tape in 1" x 3" strips. Billy also used Liquid Gold on the tape that he attached to Angie's hair. The entire install took less than 2 hours and he used all but one piece of hair. He also added fuschia pink HH strands on either side of Angie's head.
After the install was finished, Billy trimmed Angie's new extensions in the back and on the side to make sure that it all blended well.
A special thank you to Sherrie who has a great demo on 101 that was printed out and used as a guide.
Nice install, but I really can't agree with the colors...
I'm selfish, impatient, & a little insecure, I make mistakes, I am out of control, & at times, hard to handle. But if you cant handle me at my worst, then you sure as HELL dont deserve me at my best
Thank you so much. Billy did a great job. Angie is here today and said she likes the tape so much better than glue because according to her it feels so much lighter on her head. She was worried that the tape would show through at the top near her crown but she said all of her friends looked and could not see it so she is happy about that.
I think that is one of the hardest things...knowing how far up the crown to go.
And yes...Billy is a major cutie. Since he is a hairdresser he always changing his hair color and style so it is a constant parade of looks. :-) We never get bored with Billy. Ha ha

Nice install, but I really can't agree with the colors...
Hi...thanks for your feedback. I agree with you about the colors.
Angie is 18 and loves wild and crazy colors. When I first met her most of her hair was pink and purple. She picked the colors (white blonde & fushia) because she liked them. I would never go with those colors myself but she loved them......
Brigid is much more conservative and only wants her colors to match but Angie wants to be outrageous. And she definitely is. :-)

Very, very nice. Looks like a great install. Fushia hair..... ah to be young again
Yes....to be young again. Angie was just telling me that last year she did her own glue install and bought a bag of mixed colors. Her hair was blue, green, purple, pink and red. HA HA. I didn't see that but it must have been something. At least she didn't dye her hair those colors.

Billy is definitely a cutie. Matt is too. Does he like black girls?
HA HA. Beats me but Matt is 21 and Billy is 25. Both really nice guys. In fact, we have lots of very cool people here at HB.com. If I can get them all to be models for installs....you will all get to see them eventually.
We are actually going to do an install on McGee for Halloween, a fusion install on Brigid and we have someone who wants us to do a dreadlock install. That should be interesting. Not sure whether we are going to buy the hair pre-dreadlocked or buy hair and dreadlock it and then install it.
Any suggestions folks?

I had sooo much fun doing this. I've never got to do any other type of extensions so when Karen and Billy were talking about doing tape extensions i got real interested. So far they have held a lot better than glue.

I agree I am glad that HB is going to continue to do the installs and reviews!
Congrats Angie! You look very cute with the long extensions or without! But the long really suits you! Have fun with the colors, I am too old for it and my work would NEVER allow it! hehehe
haha thanks sherrie and malibu. I've always loved putting colors in my hair but after awhile it was so hard to maintain the color so when i heard about extensions i was thrilled. My sister, my best friend, and I are constantly doing each others hair and putting crazy colors in it.
