OK ladies...so yesterday I went out and bought a cheapo $20 sewing machine from Target so that I could make the silicone wefts. See how little it is???
I have a bunch of left over FR in 18 that I am never going to wear again so I played around with that...
First I used my straightner to get it silky straight. Then I put 3 wefts together so that I could make a triple weft. I found a shelf from our refrigerator in the garage that we do not use anymore, and just used that as my area to tape the wefts to.
Now here is what I realized...it is much easier to NOT get any silicone on the masking tape! As you can see my silicone lines do not look nearly as neat as Valentine's did...in fact I am wondering, how DID you get them so neat???? (By the way I used a painter's mixing stick to get the silicone into the wefts)
I waited an hour and went to go take the tape off and flip it to the other side...well the silicone did not harden yet...so I waited some more... Then I finally flipped it over and did the other side with silicone...
Ok this is where it gets UGLY!!! When I went to put a crease in it, it didn't really work...so I went to sew it...oye! I destroyed the silicone and the wefts!!!! Here are some helpless pics of the results!!!
ohmigosh milachkaa! I had been thinking to use the method for my next install. I'm so glad you tried this first (I would have probably had the same type of results! ) Hopefully you will get some posts with some helpful tips on how to make this work. Cuz I wanna know for future refernce too. I hope u have more "guinea pig" hair to work with!

Ummm yea I guess...here's a little story of what I used:
I was so excited on Friday about doing the silicone wefts that Valentine does that I went to home depot right after work to scoop some up...now that was funny! I go to the sales person "Excuse where would I find silicone?" He looked at me and goes "What kind of silicone are you looking for" I said, " Well lets see, I know one of them is an aquarium sealer, but I don't want that one, it's too runny, gimme something by GE." He said, "Hmmm considering you don;t know what it is, you certainly know a lot about what you DON'T need. What do you need to use it for? Bathroom sealer? Window Sealer?" I'm like, " Sure yea whatever suits you. Both of those sound like perfectly good uses." He looks at me puzzled, " Well WHAT are you going to use it for...?" I looked up at him, "You don't know wanna know. Let's just say it has nothing to do with housewares and let's leave it at that." The poor confused guy smiled, shrugged and said, whatever works lady.
Maybe he thought I was going to make implants at home!!!

I'm mainly shocked that you found someone to help you at home depot and he actually knew what isle to find it!! I don't even try to find a sales person there. One time I was sent there by my hubby. I called my husband on the phone when I got there and handed the phone to a guy (customer), and then the guy showed me what to get

OMG...I LOVE this story. This is soooooo me. I would be saying...yeah just give me some stuff. I love how you said...you don't want to know. Hilarious.
And yes...Valentine does a fabulous job. She even creates special tools. I have no idea how she does it. Must be her natural talent because hers turn out amazing.
I hope someone can post help because now I am very curious and wonder how to do this.
I also want to know about triple wefts? Does that make the install too bulky?

Hehe yes Home Depot is an interesting place to get stuff in...however after us remodeling our house and me having to go to home depot every freaking hour i learned the secret...low-cut tops girls!!!!
No actually I just go in there and pretend like I actually know what I am talking about...most of the time the guys in there know just about as much as I do so they have no clue I am bs'ing them. HEHE
I am going to continue trying to do these wefts on Friday...due to the holidays, I gotta cook so I won't have time to do it until then...but naturally I will keep you posted with more Home Depot stories and more disasterous pics!
