I realize that posts on this site advise against the Satin Strands from Sally, but I was deperate to try this out before ordering curly extensions (which I really need) from websites online.

Okay, so I purchased the I-tip Satin Strands as well as the micro ring tubes, the pulling hook, and the tool to close them. I've read up on using this method, and also have watched the how-to videos on you tube.
help

If anyone has any helpful comments or advice before I proceed, by all means, please comment.

If you're wondering why I am going to use the straight hair while mine is curly, I'm planning on setting cool rollers on the damp extensions or straighten my hair. Otherwise I'd look kinda funky. heehee

You could check out the demos at www.yourhairshop.com and www.doctoredlocks.com  Both have great info and step by step photos.  I didn't know Sallys was carrying tips now, I'll have to go take a look!!

One tip,
don't push the top tip of the "I" tip through the top of the micro link...
like uh...don't let it poke through, and dont install them RIGHT AGAINST your scalp...I guess that's two tips...
^..^

Hi Amira,

I have a good friend with naturally curly hair.  She buys Remy HH with a natural wave pattern and then curls the extensions with irons or hot rollers to match her natural curl pattern.  She also uses overnight rag roller sets or sponge rollers and said that they will work well too.  So you are definitely on the right track.  If you feel comfortable, we would love to see the end result.

Oh yes...I forgot.  She has also permed HH extensions in the past and did a pretty good job of matching her own curl pattern.  It can be a little tricky but she was really happy with the results.

Yes...those are both great tips.  Especially the one about right against the scalp.  I was talking to a extension trainer yesterday and she told me that same thing.

Thanks so much.

Okie, I'll remember that. Thank you everyone for replies and links. And OMG @ www.yourhairshop.com ! They're having a 45% sale on the I-tips/Stick hair! I'd better grab some up if this goes well for me!

I did notice most people talk about wefting on this site. Guess I'll have to be my own guinea pig for a day! LOL Hopefully I don't turn out looking like one.

Pictures probably will be taken when the process is complete. I should be able to post them. We shall see!

Thank you guys again
