I really enjoyed the updo by Gretchen. But I`m still not sure how to make the knots inside each section of the hair. Could you please explain to me how? Did she twist into the knots or did she tie the knot? And do you have to use wax or pomade? What about hair gel? Thanks.

Hi,

The knots are "tied" which explains the need for either a hair wax, pomade or gel which makes the hair easier to tie. Hair that is too soft will not hold the knots. A little secret trick that you can try is to tie a knot and if it doesn`t hold use small pins to hold the knot.

How to do the knots? Practice with string or rope the same size as your hair. Tie a knot near the top and the "tail" or leftover part of the hair is where you tie the next knot. The knots are big or small depending on how much hair you use.
