I had 2 sew ins done by a professional hair girl and love them I went back once and she undid them and re sewed them
.
she told me people have tried to take them out themselves and wrecked their hair.

well I want to try, maybe. She used 1 extremely small braid for each weft, some rubberbands and sewed them to the braid. didnt use artificial hair like  some do.

they are really loose and do you think  my and my freind should attempt with small sharp scissors? I dont mind loosing some hair bt dont want to loose tons and have it look weird. does it sound possible? anyone ever do it? is it dumb? I plan on becoming a DYI now after reading on here.

I just dont want to make the appt and trip to see her becuase it is a pain trying to fit in with her. I think its free of very cheap.

I take my own out (with or without the help of a friend..) I just take my time feel carefully and cut only the string.. I've never cut or damaged my own hair. With a friend there's no reason why you can't take it out.. Just make sure she cuts only sting and rubberbands.. You'll be fine..

It can be done. I was told just cut the rubber bands first and then the string and take your time. Dont rush it!

I decided not to risk it and let the styist do it. I paid her extra for that time of course. The reason is my hair is dark and the wefts are black so its really hard to see and I can only go by touch. I didnt want to risk cutting a weft or my own hair by accident.

I've done it before, they were very loose already but it was pretty easy to manage as long as you take your time
