I always had trouble with bonds poking out when I used most any kind of bond or link. I also have fine hair and just not enough of it to hide in certain areas. It could especially become a hassle if my top hair wasn’t clean and fluffy and the slightest bit of oil would make my hair separate and the bonds show through. That’s difficult because you aren’t supposed to shampoo but once a week to extend the wear of extensions.
What you can try is shampooing just your top hair by leaning over in the sink and gently lathering just your natural hair and clipping the extension hair back. This will keep it cleaner and might help with concealing bonds.
I am currently wearing a sew in weave with three wefts and it’s MUCH easier to deal with. No irritating bonds to hide and it’s simply the seam of the weft up under my natural hair. It blends right in. I can still do a "top hair shampoo" maybe once a week if needed but find it’s much easier to conceal everything. You would have to dig around with your fingers to find my wefts. I think only other weave wearers might be able to tell and even then I have gotten compliments on good concealment and placement. Sew ins can work great for fine hair and I have found much easier than bonds in most cases. I even clip up on the sides or wear my hair in an up do with no problem.

You can start further down from the crown of your head and let your natural hair cover them. You can also wear skin wefts closer and even at your crown, they are less detectable and look like hair growing from your scalp.
