ok so at the salon about 3 and 1/2 months ago i was getting my roots done to match my plat blonde hair and my roots ended up orange. they said it was because they use a lightener instead of bleach (as to do less damage). but i got kinda freaked out and decided to dye it all brown instead of trying to fix that problem.

so after it was dyed brown pretty much all my hair broke off, its still very short and uneven. but i hide this problem with clip in hair extensions that work pretty well.

but its been awhile and i have a few inches of regrowth thats never been dyed and the rest of my hair that didnt break feels really healthy. but the regrowth is a dark brown and the rest is light aburny brown. it looks stupid but im afraid to do anything to it cuz i dont want it to fall out. but what i would love is to be blonde again...

so basically what i want to know is is it wise to try and get a full heavy blonde highlight? or would my hair just fall out?

I guess a stylist would know best if the condition of your hair was good enough to be able to proceed.
Was your hair chemically processed a lot before having the blonde hair? Or was it virgin hair that was colored blonde only?

If it has only been dyed blonde the one time (except for roots) and the time you went brown, then it should be ok...
You will probably need a good trim after though.

But definitely ask a stylist to feel your hair and be truthful about whether or not it is ok to proceed. Most stylists dont want a hair blopper,so they will tell you if they dont think it is possible.

Another alternative is that you could use an auburn colored semi perm to try and blend the roots while you grow it out (or a dark brown semi-perm to blend the ends with the roots).

I over bleached mine once and it was shoulder length, it broke off and had to be cut to a chin length bob and then she did some major reconstructing treatments on it and we continued to color it blonde, I just had to be really careful with it, use exlensice conditioners (loreal professional line is fabulous) and not blow dry it or anything. I think you could go back to blonde, just have a professional do it, be upfront with them about your hair's recent history and realize they may need to cut it pretty short at first until it grows back and gets healthy again. Meanwhile you can always do your own extensions, long hair instantly without having to dye anything but your roots. that is the only way I am able to have long blonde hair because otherwise it becomes damaged at a certain length and has to be trimmed to look healthy. Good luck!
