Help!!
I have been dying my hair blonde for a while now and I want to go red. My hair already has red undertones. I put a red color on and the roots went red while the bottom half just streaked with red. I want to replace all the blonde with red, a brighter red, not dark. I do not want to go to a salon since they cost way too much here. Can anyone help me get red
Thanks
kelly

Sounds like you need protein filler since your hair isnt holding the color.
Protein filler fills in the weak (porous) spots of the hair so hair accepts color evenly and color is sealed in.
You could use a neutral (colorless) protein filler for like 20 minutes before coloring on damp hair.
Or you can actually mix the protein in with the dye and do it that way,but I'd do the other way first.
Using a RED COLORED protein filler might be best because it will help the color stick better.
If you dont know what protein filler is,you should be able to find it at a beauty supply store (Sally's) or maybe find it online. It is awesome and really helps with coloring and makes hair soft and shiny too.
It can improve hair health ALOT.But only when used properly. It should only be used when coloring,or as a reconstructing treatment maybe once or twice a week.
Too much protein is bad, which is why for some people it makes it feel kinda crunchy.
However, when coloring, protein is often stripped away.
When coloring, the protein fills in weak spots in hair so it makes the color more even and the hair is more protected against damage.
A hairstylist told me about it.Now,when ever I make a color change I'am sure to use it because it can work wonders.
