Hey growing out grey:

I have an idea. How about a heavy highlighting to match the blond that is left at the bottom. Then use a Shades Vanilla cream or Irish Cream tonerall over your head. This will at least let your grey keep coming in and until you cut off the blonde at the bottom hewlp it match up. If you are looking for a new cut think of chin length with alot of layering. This will for sure get rid of the old tinted hair and make the transition to the grey a little easier. I am in the same boat. I am 57 and thinking of going to my all white hair. It sure is a pain in the you know what. Keep me posted on how you are doing. Forest

I'm going back to my beautiful, natural grey for the 2nd and last time. I grew up natural brown with grey. Went auburn color to cover. Cut it SHORT, let it grow out grey.

At shoulder length folks said I'd never date again as grey and tried Clariol Color at home, became Natasha. Boy, does it grab white/grey.

Went to my regular stylist, got "corrected" and after hours and bandaid. . . I became a blond. After a couple of years I'm ready to become natural me again.

I always used Logics color in the salon. But even the temporary color with Logics grabs and won't let go.

Three months ago I gave up and am in the growing out "unattractive" stages. 2.5 inches of natural with blond to the shoulders.

Thinking of getting a fall out of bed/loose body wave and layers to make it look better??

My boyfriend HATES I'm doing this!!!! Shoot, I'm almost 46 and ready to be who I am, naturally. It was pretty, got lots of compliments and sure is cheaper to maintain.

I've located the Aussie purple shampoo and have begun using it. I used to use the Jerimac silver shampoo and conditioner, can't find it now. It really makes me shine!!! Suggestions??

Also any suggestions on cuts???

Hi Ray:

You didn't say what tinted color you have. I will assume it is a medium brown color. You also didn't mention if you have your color done by a professional or you do it yourself. Lets look at a few of the options to get you where you want to be.

Assuming you are coloring yourself with a medium brown color
l. The next time yoe tint choose 1 shade lighter than the one you have been using.
2. Only apply the haircolor on the grey hair. DO NOT GET ANY OF THE COLOR ON THE ALREADY COLORED HAIR.
3. This means do not pull thru the color onto the ends of the already colored hair.

Option 2

Go to the salon and explain that you are wanting to go llighter eventually all the way to grey. They can:
1. Use a color remover and tint to a lighter shade of blonde
2. Do like I said above start going gradually and tinting lighter.
3. Folow the the tinting lighter with a cap highlight
giving you very light highlights so that when you keep going lighter no-one will really notice the grey.

Good luck, Forest

Help.....I'm determined to let my hair return to its natural color, but each time the roots begin to show it looks so hideous I color it again.

Any suggestions for how I can make this process a little easier without hiding in the closet for a year so noone will see me????

Thanks.
Raye
