I have tried it. For best results you should purchase the video that comes wiht it. The book is nicely illustrated. Every clip on te television commercial is illustrated on te video. I do not know what the black looks like, but the vavy blue is really pretty. The device snaps into a ball, so you have to keep it snapped out beofre you put it in. This is a must for updo.
