Yes...great idea. Unfortunately Salon Michelle where Shelley works does not currently have a web site, but they will, like most salons, quote prices over the phone.

Best wishes,
Karen

Lots of salons will also post their prices for services on their web sites, if they have one, and that is always a big help to know what you are walking into.

Hi Jessie,

I understand about the hair services pricing issues. I was recently doing research on the organic straightening process at the New York salon (article is on the front page) and was amazed at the prices for a hair blow out service. Some salons will charge a premium for long hair too. Consequently I always ask on the phone. In fact, I will call and pretend that I am thinking about going to the salon and that I want their price list for services. Then if they sound reasonable I will ask for an appointment. Otherwise I will pass.

Some of the celebrity stylists charge amounts that are almost unbelievable...if you can even get in to see them.

Best wishes,
Karen

Hi Karen. Just wanted to tell you thanx so much for the info on the prices and for recommending Shelly. I feel pretty cheap asking, but didn`t want to be totally shocked when I walked in! I`ll tell her you sent me and I appreciate your time. Jessie

Hi,

Shelley Pryor at Salon Michelle in Plano has been taking care of my very long hair for many years. She specializes in long hair and in super curly hair. She is a sweetheart.

Her prices are very reasonable. For higlights I usually pay in the range of $60-70 dollars depending on what she does to my hair. She has to use a cap and it takes over 3 hours. So that is pretty fair I think.

She charges in the $20-30 range for haircuts. Salon Michelle is a good place but it is not high priced like Jose Eber. They will quote you prices over the phone too.

You can reach her at:

Best wishes,
Karen Shelton

I was wondering if there is anyone who can recommend a good long hair stylist in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I have quite long hair and normally once a year get it permed and that time has come again and i'm in a dilema as to what to do with it this time. It would also be nice if anyone knew prices. I know the old saying "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" but I would just like to know, as i've never really gone to anyone professional. The cost of the cut only. I know perm prices vary dramatically. Thanks Much!!
